The project
I joined a team of MBA candidates to work on a Health Tech product geared towards helping users with food allergies more easily navigate restaurant menus, and help restaurants more easily disclose allergens in their menus with the use of LLMs.
The problem

Allert is a two-sided platform that seeks to increase allergen and nutrient transparency between food services and their consumers. the app aims to allow restaurants to easily cross reference ingredient order receipts, recipes, and menus with the use of LLMs to determine what allergens are present in each dish, and to what extent. With that information, the UI can clearly and efficiently help diners navigate menus based on their dietary restrictions.
